Our Story

Many of the homes Clayton Custom Homes has constructed are in rural settings. We particularly enjoy building highly efficient, slab-on grade homes and love sharing the benefits of such homes with whoever may be interested. Large scale renovations are also very fulfilling. It is satisfying to see a homeowner’s new visions come to life. I am a Tarion Warranty registered home builder and take absolute pride in all projects in which I am involved. Clayton Custom Homes employs skilled and reliable carpenters. We only work with the best sub-trades. I am proud to say that I am actively involved at every job site. For this reason, if you choose to reach out to Clayton Custom Homes, you will likely reach my wife Kathleen first. I will get back to you as soon as my “workday” is done.

My hope is that when every project Clayton Custom Homes completes, the homeowner is left totally impressed, I would not want my name to be associated with anything less than exceptional.

I consider myself privileged to have been raised surrounded by many distinguished craftsmen. I was able to get firsthand experience in many aspects of the of the Home Building and Renovating Industry. These include: drafting, building home foundations, framing, fine trim finishing, flooring and even furniture building and finishing.

During my time in school, I learned the art of drafting homes by hand. I have drafted many homes in the past and enjoy the satisfaction of producing original house plans. More recently I have passed this aspect of the business to Engineers who can produce plans using the most modern technology. I work regularly with a select few engineers and an incredible interior designer who I highly recommend.

At a very young age I was able to work alongside my dad in the Flooring Industry and learned not only to install hardwood but the proper way to install all floor coverings, including tile and natural stone. I have worked in the Flooring Industry for 30 years and have close ties to one of the top flooring stores in Kingston, ONT., Clayton Flooring Inc. You can be sure that only the finest floor coverings will be used in your home.

My uncle provided the opportunity to apprentice under him for many summers in Thunder Bay, where he specialized in building custom homes and was known for his spectacular work. It is there that I learned how to craft a home from start to finish. Over the past 10 years I have shared by time between the Flooring Industry and have found great satisfaction in the Custom Home Building and Renovation Industry.
